Though we are an apolitical organization, Zalul strongly believes that everyone should have the opportunity to visit the beautiful beaches of the world. In Israel, due to travel restrictions, Palestinians are unable to see the Mediterranean or spend time on the beaches along the coast. A local Israeli group realized the misfortune of these individuals and organized to bring some young Palestinians from the West Bank, through a Jerusalem tunnel, to the sea. As one organizer stated, “It has to be without limits. The sea belongs to everybody, not only Israel.” Through private donations and arrangements with the Israeli authorities to obtain travel permits for these children, the organization gave these children what they truly deserved: a day at the beach!

Please read more about their trip in the Washington Post.
