From Gray Water to Garden Water…or Toilet Water

This Wednesday, the Knesset will hear a bill, proposed by MK Nitzan Horowitz, that promotes the instillation of gray water recycling systems in public buildings in Israel. Gray water recycling systems allow water from showers and sinks to be recycled for use in gardens and toilets. This technology, which is used worldwide, allows significant amounts of water to be conserved. In Israel, where water is such a scarce resource, it is hoped that this technology will catch on and a be a step in the right direction towards tackling Israel’s water problem.
