IDF Taking Big Steps for the Environment

As a relatively new country, Israel is still working to improve the health of its land and people. Recently, after a budget debate, the Israel Defense Force (IDF) was granted 400 million shekels (104 million dollars) to connect bases to local sewage systems.

The conscious efforts toward a more clean and cared for environment will have three main effects on the country, including preventing pollution of water, increasing water for irrigation use, and saving money that would typically be allocated to repairing damaged environmental areas. This initiative begins this year and is expected to be accomplished by 2015.
