Good news for Israel’s beaches!
In a recent article citing a study by Zalul in Haaretz, beach closings have dropped dramatically in the past few years. As a result of continued public pressure on authorities, beaches have have been maintained and remained open for the duration of the summer. In 2007, 64 beaches were closed due to contamination, dropping down to only 12 in 2009. This is great news for beach-goers and environmentalists alike!
