Zalul publishes Israel’s water pollution hot spots of 2008

January 6, 2009

Happy 2009 Zalul supporters!

2008 was pretty good, but 2009 is going to be even better.  This past year Zalul made great strides in cleaning up Israel’s water pollution problems, but there is much more work to be done!

Visit <a href=Last week we released our 2008 Pollution Hot Spots Map that highlights the most dangerous government-permitted pollution spilled directly into the Mediterranean Sea as well as Israel’s coastal rivers.  Check it out for yourself:

The good news is that both Nahariya and Herzliya, who once were on Zalul’s blacklist, are now much cleaner and safer thanks to Zalul’s push to install high quality waste treatment facilities.

As is Zalul’s method, we will continue to focus on one hot spot at a time – demanding that companies, factories, and municipalities clean up their waste before dumping it into our precious water resources.

As we move ahead, we need your help more than ever.  Help us get the word out about water pollution in Israel!

Invite your friends to join our group on Facebook, sign-up for our newsletter on our website, and, if you can, DONATE to help us protect Israel’s most important natural resource – water.
